Fun Caving at GuaTempurung Perak Malaysia

 

Gua Tempurung Perak Malaysia is situated in Gopeng, approximately 24 km to the south from Ipoh capital city of Perak. It is a limestone cave with the biggest size in Peninsular Malaysia. The cave is not as large as Mulu Cave and Niah Cave in Sarawak, but it is easy to explore and the beginners can have fun caving time in Gua Tempurung.

The tunnel in Gua Tempurung Perak is about 2 kilometers of length. It is underneath the limestone hills named Gunung Gajah and Gunung Tempurung, with 5 big domes that have been existing since approximately 10,000 years ago.

Inside the cave, platforms and lighting have been installed at the front part so the visitors can easily walk into the cave. There are some options of caving packages available to choose based on your capability to explore the cave.

Don’t forget to bring the camera to take the pictures of the wonderful interior of the cave with its amazing stalagmites and stalactites. You will also see Gua Tempurung subterranean river inside the cave, the clean and crystal clear water will be so much fun to get wet.

Choose one of four tour packages to explore the Gua Tempurung Perak Malaysia, such as:

1. The Golden Flowstone Dry Tour

In this 40 minutes caving tour, you will see the golden colored limestone’s at platform 3. The entrance fee is RM 8.00 for adult and RM 4.00 for child and senior. The tour opens every day from 9 am to 4 pm.

2. Top of the World Dry Tour

To join this 1 hour 45 minutes tour, make sure to make a team consisting 5 adults. The aim is the cave’s tallest part at the platform 5.The entrance fee for this tour is RM 12.00 for adult and RM 6.00 for child and senior. The tour is available every day from 9 am to 3 pm.

3. Top of the World and Short River Adventure Wet Tour

This 2.4 kilometers long tour should be followed by at least 8 adults. It includes the tour to the Golden Flowstone and the Top of the World, and then pass through the underground river to go back to the entrance. For you will pass the river, make sure you prepare all of the equipment needed in the 2.5 hours caving. The entrance fee is RM 15.00 for adult and RM 7.50 for child and senior. It is available daily from 9 am to 12 pm.

4. The Grand Tour

It is the longest caving tour about 3.8 km long and will take about 3.5 hours of time. The grand tour is the total of the three tours above. It costs RM 30.00 for adult and RM 15.00 for child and senior. It is available every day from 9 am to 11 am.
